Owing to positive developments recorded in the fight against Coronavirus, in the presidential cabinet under the presidency of our president have been evaluated regarding the issue of the entry of foreign citizens into our country through land, air and sea border crossings and the exit of our citizens from our country on 09.06.2020.

Except  the provisions of passenger entry/exit from Iranian land border, The crossings for the provisions of the circular which had issued by our ministry of Interior concerning the Covid-19 outbreak and regulating the entry/exit of Turkish citizens and foreign citizens to our country by air, land and sea have been repealed.

    23. The process of planning travel by air will be managed under the Coordination of the Ministries of Health, Foreign Affairs, Transport and infrastructure. (Estimated Flight Start Table)

    24. Turkish and all foreign citizens who will be entering to our country, will be checked for health. PCR testing will be carried out free of charge for those who have symptoms during the health check and where necessary, and the procedures and principles related to this process will be stated by the Ministry of Health.

    Due to Covid-19 outbreak, We would like to submit here below the latest update for Turkish ports & borders:

    FOR TRANSIT PASSAGE:

    No restriction for strait passage.

    FOR HUSBANDRY MATTERS:

    Crew change still not allowed for Foreign seamen.

    All supply operation can be done as long as all safety rules guaranteed.

    Signature should be completed with both parties electronically.

    FOR PORT CALLS:

    After sanitary inspection on a vessel’s arrival

    If there are no symptoms found to Covid 19, customs clearance can be done and the permission grants for berthing.

    If any symptoms are detected with the crew, as per quarantine conditions the vessel will be quarantined for 14 days.

    DRYDOCKING CALLS:

    Turkish Minister of Health announced that 14 days quarantine period for dry docking calls are over by 27th May 2020. If there are no smptoms found Covid 19, customs clearance can be done and the permission grants for docking.

    TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS:

    June 1 travel restrictions lifted between provinces, decision the Turkish Ministry of Health

    June 4 domestic flights started between provinces, decision the Turkish Ministry of Health

    June 15 onward international flights will be open as follow:

    • June 15: Bahreyn, Bulgaria, Greece, Qatar
    • June 16: Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, Czechia, Croatia, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Japan,

                             Macedonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Tajikistan.

    Reference        : TR  İstanbul Governorship Provincial Security Directorate   Seaport  Branch Directorate letter on 19.03.2020 and no e-2020031916410409091  

     

    In this reference letter, it is underlined that "international public health emergency" is announced by World Health Organization on 30/01/2020 against the COVID-19 outbreak in the People's Republic of China and that necessary measures shall be taken in line with the course of the disease. In this context, for the vessels anchored at the ports of prohibited countries or accepted crew members and guests from such countries within the last 14 days, it is declared that foreign staff exchange shall not be applicable during transit passage through Turkish ports or Turkish straights except disease and fatality incidents.

     

    Furthermore, it is also underlined with concerning the letter from Anti-Migrant Smuggling and Border Protection Department that relevant works are performed at the border gates to detect the individuals traveled to the risky states within last 14 days and that stated individuals shall arrive at our country through connecting flights since all lines are ceased from the risky states. For this reason, stamp checks are required for all passengers arriving from the countries with flight clearance to determine whether the passengers traveled to the risky states within the last 14 days.

    Accordingly, if the crew members on relevant vessels alongside at Istanbul ports or passing through the Bosporus Strait intend to leave the vessel and if an individual from the risky states is detected to join the vessel within last 14 days upon the captain's declaration including the date and port information for such individual, it is indicated that the crew members on such vessels shall not be allowed to our country until the quarantine period is over.

Besides all official port authorities are functioning with paperless system who do not allow any third parties entrance into their buildings.

  • Dardanelles Strait will be suspended for Southbound vessel passages due to  M/V DERK (IMO CLASS 7 CARGO CARRIER) passage on Tuesday 22 October 2019 from 05:45 until 12:45 lt. 

  • As per Canakkale Harbour Master information due to constructions of ‘Canakkale 1915 Bridge’ Dardanelles straits passages to be arranged as follows:

    07.05.2019 10:00 hrs until 10.05.2019 10:00 hrs traffic to be planned one direction only for which direction of passages traffic to be determined by VTS Control in accordance of vessels congestions.

  • Dardanelles Strait will be suspended for Northbound vessel passages due to LNG Tanker OUGARTAI and Container Vessel MSC LA SPEZIA (LOA: 365 M) passage on Saturday 20 April 2019 from 10:45 until 18:15 lt.

  • Canakkale Strait will be suspendend for Northbound & Southbound vessel passages, on 16 and 18 March 2019 08:00 between 18:00 lt. because of "National victory ceremonies

  • Dardanelles straits to be suspended for vessel traffic between 15.01.2019-17.01.2019 (10.00 – 23.00 hours) for both direction due to contruction piers of 1915 Canakkale suspention Bridge.

  • Bosphorus Strait will be suspended for Northbound&southbound vessel passages because of PIONEERING SPIRIT (PIPELAYER 382M.) passage on  20 June 2018 .
